About Captain Ted's Tackle
and owner Jeff Kincaid
 

Captain Ted's Tackle has been owned and operated by Jeff Kincaid since August 2003.  There was a real Captain Ted (Ted Locker). But at that time, the store was only open on Mondays, and sold clearance-type items.

Jeff has expanded the retail hours and has greatly increased the scope of available products and services. Captain Ted¹s Tackle is truly a one stop location for all anglers. You will find rods, reels, lures, line, hooks, charts, knives, wading shoes, nets and accessories including hats, sunglasses and gift items, and plenty of advice at Captain Ted's.

The right information is a bonus gift you will always receive at Captain Ted's Tackle. Kincaid especially enjoys sharing his hands-on knowledge with beginners to the sport of salt water fishing. For the mid-range experienced week-end fisherman Captain Ted's is recognized as first stop to find out which fish are biting on what and where.

Jeff has been fishing Gulf Coast waters almost his whole life. Jeff's family moved him from Boone County, Ind. to Charlotte County when he was four years old. He graduated from Charlotte High School in 1982.

"My grandmother taught me how to fish", he says. He keeps a memento on the wall of his shop in her honor. "She always had one of these (a plastic reel/line contraption) in the glove compartment of any car she drove", Kincaid explained.

Jeff presently lives in Sarasota with his partner of 12 years, Linda Liberatore, and their two dogs; Ellie and Elmer.
